Student Representative Council

Student Representative Council (SRC) is elected by the students, and these students serve on the committee for an academic year.

The SRC bridges the gap between the students and management. When students have any issues on campus, they talk to the SRC, and we speak to management about it, so the problem can be solved. There are different portfolios within the SRC.

Message from Ramone, SRC President

As President of the SRC I am very pleased with the Committee that is to serve during this term in office. I have every faith in each candidate to uphold the standards that they have made a pledge to keep. The committee consists of 10 members, which is significantly larger than the previous committee that kept office during 2009.

The committee sees the introduction of a new portfolio, 1st Year Representatives. This portfolio has been included to groom the two members to become future leaders within the SRC and the 1st year group. As a committee we would like to leave a legacy and foundation for future members to build and improve on. Therefore, we believe that this portfolio should be kept in the committee.

The SRC also works very closely with the other committees on campus. However, special mention must be made of the working relationship we have with the Entertainment Committee. Working together we aim to provide entertainment and events that would include the participation of all students here on campus.  The current heads of this committee is: Eden Grant and Rouxle Hattingh.

Our theme for this module is “Unity at Stenden”. This places emphasis on the goals and plans we have as committee for the year ahead. We plan to usher in a new campus culture and collectively create an atmosphere that all students can enjoy and take part in. This is due to the fact that campus has grown in number quite significantly.

We recognize that student involvement on this campus is crucial. Therefore, we highlight this element and encourage all students to participate actively in all provided activities.
